New phone!

So I finally fell for the pressure and bought a smartphone (an Xperia, not an Iphone) Hung out with my Xtravel teammate Erika at a cafe today Pretty stoked on this new phone since I can blog about it on the subway home. She made me lose track on time and we ended up talking and planning for almost 3 hours. Got lots of great ideas, maybe I’ll tell you about them later.

Home!!

Swedish breakfast, weather and Nyhetsmorgon! It’s snowing, and it’s awessome!! Good start of the day (:

So much for no heavy lifting..

Had the worst check in of all time. I tried to place my boardbag strategically partly on the top of my backpack to make it lighter. It looked like it was working but then my backback fell! Increasing the weight on my bag from 23 to 30 kg and giving me problems. I had to repack 3 times, throwing some stuff away and loading my poor little back pack. Anyways, this is the result. I barely got through security cause I took my ropes in my hand luggage (I’m stupid) and apparently they can be used as deadly weapons but with a little tear and puppy eyes they let me through. Now I’m in Abu Dhabi after a 13 hour flight. Only 2 more flights to go and then I’ll be HOME!

The doctors said no heavy lifting after surgery, but I love my stuff.. 😉

Double Up Wakeboards

It’s official. Yesterday I had a meeting at the Double Up office and signed the papers which turns me into a team rider. Stoked to be part of the team with some of the coolest people I’ve ever met. 2012 seems to be a good year! (:

Haha, I love stalefish grabs

Home!

Ehm, to Mitches Parent’s 😉 It was AMAZING to sleep in a normal bed and to wake up when I wanted and to get all the disgusting needles out of me! So happy!! Been making cookies while listening to Justin Bieber today and then ate them while watching a movie. Last night me and Mitch picked up Dylan as soon as I got out of the hospital. That is Dylan who I stayed with at Goldie, he’s down to ride the Moomba Master Competition this week-end.(I just found out that he won it again! Way to go Dylan!! (: ) We had taco night which was the first time in five days I managed to eat without feeling nauseous.

This was like 2 days before surgery.. Wonder if my tan will survive this? 😉

Still rocking my O’Neill Stretch’s ;)

So being in this hospital really makes me feel like a kid again. I’ve been watching the Lion King, put my arms over my chest and refused to eat and cried out lout when the nurses needs to put needles in my arms.

I. Hate. Needles.
I dont know why, they just make me really really uncomfortable and all the nurses here know that now. They’ve tried everything from doing it when I’m sleeping to numb cream but everytime they’re putting a needle in me, I’ve ended up crying (yeah, I’m a real chicken and I’m not hiding it) Thats why, today when they had to get some blood from me they sent in the big guns. This nurse was sooo nice and told me that she was going to use a needle called “the butterfly” which they normally use on little kids. I think she was used to treating kids cause she kept saying “aw, how brave are you?” and “you’re such a good girl” and I loved it. For the first time I didn’t cry!

Guess we all have some part of a kid in us and in my case, it definitely shows when I’m sick or in pain. I’m allowed to go ‘home today or home to Mitches parents who are without a doubt some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. Mitche’s mom made me home-made brownies which was the first thing I managed to eat without feeling nauseous after my surgery.

I can barely watch it now cause it makes me wanna ride so bad but you haven’t missed the website Wakegirls? Full of cool chicks on the water and it def. stokes me up so bad! Well, that was todays unload of thoughts… xx

Hospital Update

So I got a request from, probably, my biggest blog-reader (my brother) to write some about my time here at the hospital. Well it’s not that exciting it all started a couple of days ago with me waking up in the middle of the night with some stomach ache and just went on with my day as usual til the cramps made me go to sleep at like 1. I woke up a little later in some cramps, thinking it was just food poisoning, but we decided to go to the hospital anyways. Once in they kinda put me in a sexy night gown and to bed straight away and then surgery the next morning. I love how you just go in there and then wake up with no idea where or who you are but in zero pain and all fuzzy! Been in recovery the last few days and since my appendix actually broke on me they have to keep me under observation and give me some antiboitics. Anyone who has ever tried to put a needle in my arm knows how much fun it is and how big of a little kid I am when it comes to that kind of stuff.

So yeah, thats the story.. I never realized how many great friends I’ve made down here who really come and visit me and help me out! Ian from Double Up, Briony and your family and of course Mitch, and the rest of the Williams. As well as all the emails from my family back home in Sweden. I love you all more than my morphine button right now!

I’m kicking it pretty hard at the moment, watching movies and looking at changing some flight tickets. The hardest blow for me was hearding the doctor say that I shouldn’t do any “heavy lifting” for at least 4 weeks and then he asked me if my “body boarding” included such. This means that I will miss the World Cup next week-end and it makes me wanna punch a wall just thinking about it. Well I got to believe that everything happens for a reason so maybe this is the universe’s way of saving me.

Now that I’ve got internet at the hospital I might be able to blog some more! (: Thanks for all your sweet comments!

Be cool, stay in school…
