OMG! Give me everything! Specially the dress at the end, definitely time to suck up to the O’Neill peeps in Sweden when I come home! 😉
Total 180
We woke up early this morning to have time for a wake set before Bucket (the man, the myth) had to go to work. I was so excited since I hadn’t ridden sine the Double Up team trip and I was hoping that maybe I could do something more than grabs this time. After watching the others throw it down, D trying out his new board, I was up. And I couldn’t even jump wake to wake! I had the worst set ever and I would lie if I would say that it doesn’t matter, that it was all good. The pressure I put on myself also goes in my riding and I left the lake feeling like the worst person ever. As my day went on I started reflecting over what had just happened, I’d just been with some of the greatest people I know, in sunny Australia, back on my board. With my friend Cianne passing away and the texts she wrote before it happened it makes me think about her every day. In her texts she would always finish with “just, breathe” because something that we take for granted, like a long deep breath, was something that she would have traded her right arm for. So that’s what I do now whenever I feel upset, I breathe and remember the important things.
Later on when Bucket was finished working we all went down to the lake again for a second set. With only the intention of having fun and taking care of my ankle I rode again and had the best ride since my accident. ♥
Flights booked!
Today I bought my flights for the next chapter of my life and I’m really excited (even though it sucks leaving my friends here). Me and Charlotte Bryant, from the UK are going to spend 3 weeks training in Thailand!! We leave on the 22nd of Febuary and after that I head down to Perth and the World Cup. I’m hoping my foot will feel better since I went for a run today and it wasn’t great. It wasn’t bad either though so who knows. After World Cup I’ve now bought my ticket back home so I will land in Sweden on the 19th of March and I’m really excited to see my family again (if they still remember me).
My last few weeks in Australia will be focused on complete rehab and yoga. And of course spending time with my friends. Next weekend we have a rail jam coming up wich will be my first comp since the injury! (:

Byron Bay
Some people have real talent, like whoever did this to the beach in Byron. So beautiful! I’m so happy I get to experience these amazing places with these amazing people. Now we are back home in Melbourne trying to recover after the roadtrip. After a smashing finish with celebrating Australia Day down in Sydney by Ambers parents house on the Hacko where we went out wakesurfing, playing cricket and cruising around we’ve now slept for like 2 days. I really enjoyed meeting Melissa Marquardt who, in my eyes is one of the gnarliest riders in the world and a huge inspiration when it comes to sick style and winching skills. It turns out she is the nicest and funnest chick to hang out with as well!
Big thanks to Amber and her family for letting us crash on their couch after a full day of partying and to Dean, Scotty, Double Up, Tyrell and everyone elso who made this my best Aussie day ever! (:
All I really needed to know I learned in kindergarden
When we were touring with team Double Up I found this painting in a café in Byron bay. So much wisdom
By Robert Fulghum
“All I really need to know about how to live and what to do and how to be I learned in kindergarden. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate-school mountain but there in the sandpile at sunday school. These are the things I learned:
Ci Naji
I was heartbroken today when I found out one of my friends Ci Naji just lost her fight against Cystic Fibrosis. Ci was a real inspiration to any female wakeboarder since she didn’t let her disease stop her from doing anything. After competing for several years for the Irish team she started her own womens board brand when she couldn’t ride anymore. I can’t believe this picture was only taken this summer when we were partying at wakestock. I said I was too hungover to go nuts another night and you made me scowl a Red Bull Vodka while you made the whole camp chant me on. And then I said that your shoes looked so sick and you just pulled them off your feet and gave them too me if I promised to wear them. I am going to miss you so much!

Behind the Scenes
Tara Pyers
Riding cable up here in Bli Bli I’ve been watching Tara Pyers, local rider at Gowake Cable throw it down! She makes me feel like bambi on these rails so I thought I’d share an edit with you to get you as stoked as I get when she rides before me on the cable (:
