Celebrated Australia Day after the comp with Hayley and her friends from Nautique by going to a steakhouse (Yup, I’m still a vegetarian). So good to see her again and catch up since we only meet once ever other year or so.
Australian Open
Rode in my first Australian Open today out by Windsor Stadium. I had a super bad first run, you might even compare it to my baking, where I fell on my first trick and then a heel 3 but since we weren’t too many competitors in pro womens I still made it to finals. My final run went a bit better so I ended up on a 3rd spot, right after the amazing Hayley Smith and Bec Gange. Pretty happy with that and stoked to keep riding cable tomorrow! AND stoked that my blog is back up! (:
yesss!
Blog up and running again. Sorry for being away y’all! This is what I’ve been up too:
- Caught a great faceplant on a backside 3
- Drove to philip Island on monday and went for a surf on a shortboard
- Caught one wave on it after about 4 hours and got stoked!
- Did not get eaten by a shark
- Went on a penguin tour without seeing any penguins
- Had fresh fish for dinner and kicked it on the island
- Woke up and couldn’t move from sore surfer muscles
- Had a morning surf on a Malibu board and caught some more waves
- Had an after surf nap
- Went for a second surf with Matty and had so much fun!
- Kicked it in Melbourne for another couple of days
- Drove up to Sydney for BoardStock and slept for 7 hours in the car
- Had a private early morning shred with Courtney and Dylan on the cable
- Rode Australian Open
I think that might be all this post could handle.. more to come soon! (:
Psycho Swedish…
Lots on my mind lately with flight tickets and lame matters back home which I need to solve about my company. And the fact that I haven’t been wakeboarding all week due to the weather and lack of time, oh and that it’s totally Ice Cream time of month! Can’t wait for my bad moods to get better and I feel slightly sick from all the ice cream I’ve eaten today.
When we went to the reserve we also saw some Tasmanian Devils and I cracked the comment “In my next life I want to be one of those, Just all psycho and kicking it” where Mitch responded “What do you mean ‘in your next life’?” Guess that is a little bit how I’m feeling right now…
Koalas!
The bad weather the last couple of days made us cancel our surfing trip and it hasnt been too good wake weather either with storms and pouring rain so yesterday we went to a reserve to pet some aussie animals! I looove Koalas! We also fed some wallabies straight from our hands. Me, and me swedish friend Johanna who just got down under were super excited and our Aussie friend Mitch had a good time just watching the two swedish girls giggling and running around…
World Cup!!
Iphone photo..sorry ;)
Been riding a lot lately, headed up to Lake Eildon with a great crew yesterday and rode in the super choppy water. Had a good time though and even got my jet-skiing on, haha. Went out on the watersport center today with lukes 210 and the wake felt massive! I can still feel the cable shredd a couple of days ago leaving an impact on my body though so i don’t feel too flexible. Here’s a pic from the best cable park I’ve ever ridden in Penrith!
I love wakeboarding
Wow, it feels like it’s monday now since I had so many days off in a row. We drove up to the Murray river, crammed into Brants car and all super stoked on monday. In the car we decided to play the game of life, which means that whenever somebody says the words “mine” or “ten” you have to drop on the spot and do 10 pushups. I feel a lot stronger now after this trip, being framed with phrases like “whose is this?” “umm, it’s MINE”. And then nailing yourself with “aaah you have to do ten pushups!.. NOOO!!!!”.
Anyways we got to Lawrence’s parents house and saw the beautiful X2 shimmer in the sun (oh yeahh). After a couple of minutes we were riding on the river and it was sickk! After 2 sets we went back and hit up the barbecue and chilled out for a couple of hours. The others we’re sleeping in tents but I decided to stay under the stars. So did Mitch but he didn’t know that you’re supposed to tighten your sleeping bag so that no bugs can get you (thanks for that my brother). Result: I had an amazing sleep where I woke up during the sunrise and saw a postcard picture forever imprinted in my head, Mitch didn’t sleep at all since he was too busy getting rid of the mosquitos.
Yesterday we rode all day as well, and got super sunburned. It was great too except for the fact that when I was trying the new trick of mine, I decided to introduce my knee to my chin and knocked a couple of chips out of my teeth. I was so close though!!! The others tried some tantrum-tuesday and toeside-5-tuesday (they said that it’s cause my trick doesn’t start with a T that made me fall).
In the car on the way home I fell asleep like 10 times (pushups) but we still managed some awesome road-trip discussions which I will not develop more than that. I was craving a mcflurry since it’s now a tradition but we didn’t see a maccers til almost back home. And that’s when someone said “So, should we stop at this Maccers?” and Matty answered “McF*ckyeah!”.
See mom, it’s not bad, my teeth are still there! (:
Picture of the year
Saw a post from one of the best comps last year, Lund Wakefest, that a photographer submitted a pic of me as “picture of the year” and won it! (:

Happy New Year
Been having such a good time over here and actually been out of cellphone reception for a couple of days! Pretty cool huh? But now I’m back at the Frangis here in Sydney until tomorrow. Beck came and picked me up from the airport with her boyfriend waiting in the car. Even though we haven’t seen each other in almost 2 years it felt like we’d never been apart. First thing we did was to get our girl on and go out and such a great night out! Woke up the next morning, had a sushi breakfast/lunch on the beach and then left for the river.
I didn’t know that Beck had the sickest boat I’ve ridden behind over here. Randal Harris’ Axis so I was totally stoked on the wake. We had a couple of great days with riding, even though the river was really busy with everyone on their holidays. I think I saw more good wakeboardboats (X-stars, Wakesetters, Axis.. etc) on that river then I’ve seen in all of Sweden. I could have stayed out there for ever! The wake was massive so I was a little intimidated but tried some new tricks again. Usually I get a little frustrated with not landing my stuff but it was impossible behind that great boat and in that crazy sun. Plus I had a hot australian girl driving the boat for me…
Got back to her place and cell reception last night and my phone was blasting up with messages from the boys back in melbourne who were out on a river aswell. Got the best message from a couple drunkos and had to call them to wish a happy new year. Stoked on riding back home now too!
We celebrated new year by partying by the river where there was a DJ playing under the stars. Apparently it was a costume party and the theme were cartoon characters, there were so many great costumes there! Beck and I ended up painting our legs white with black spots and we went as the 101 dalmatians. (except for that it was only the two of us, oh and her boyfriend Jimmy got dragged into it as well). Danced with glow in the dark bracelets til 1 and stole a new years kiss from Beck before going to bed.
We all got super sunburned yesterday but the plan is to kick it on the beach today and then go and ride cable tomorrow. Sounds good to me, the new year is starting off good!
oh, and my camera died on me. Rest in peace! now i guess i’ll have to take all my pics with my go pro…
